Hans has a busy autumn 1996 as a technical trainer. After coming home from 2 weeks in Bogota in the end of September he travels almost directly to Sri Lanka. His task is to conduct theoretical technical training of a radio-based telephone system, in Colombo.
Later in November Hans returns to Sri Lanka in order to finish the training with a practical installation and commissioning course.

Hans has a designated driver during his stay in Colombo.
The course material consists of overhead films that Hans has brought in his luggage. The students have course binders with black-and-white copies of the overhead films.
Even though the course is theoretical, some equipment has arrived and the students prepare the installation.
Colombo has both colorful and non colorful areas.
The hotel is quite close to the sea but Hans does not have the opportunity to go there.
Hans is free on Sunday and the driver Asanto takes him to Kandy and the Pinnawala elephant orphanage.
In the orphanage there is a possibility to get a head massage. This is too tempting for Hans to resist.
In November Hans conduct training in Indonesia. On the way home he stops in Colombo to conduct the last part of the course.
The last part of the training includes commissioning and fault finding exercises.
After Hans was in Colombo in September, the core units of the radio-based telephone system has been installed in the course premises.
