Radio-orienteering WC, Kazakhstan 2014

In September 2014 a team of 10 Swedish radio-orienteers go to Kazakhstan, to participate in the 17th World Championships in ARDF. Hans 57, is one member of the team.

Hans go to Almaty in the end of August to investigate the country on his own, before the competitions started.

The 17th World ARDF Championships is held in Burabay, Kazakhstan in September 2014.

  • Arrival for classics (as well as for all events).
  • Training on 80m and 2m bands, official opening.
  • First classic competition, awarding.
  • Cultural event.
  • Second classic competition, awarding, arrival for Sprint and Foxoring.
  • Training for Sprint and Foxoring competitions, in the afternoon Sprint competition, awarding.
  • Foxoring competition, awarding, closing ceremony and banquet.
  • Departure.

The Swedish team consists of 10 runners from Stockholm and Västerås. In addition the chairman of the jury is Swedish and Sweden has one international referee.

During the competitions the M70 team gets one gold and one bronze medal and Ingvar Ehrsson M50 gets a bronze medal.

Bus trip with detour

The buses taking the runners to the completition area gets problem. The driver don't know the way.

A planned travel distance of 20 km and 30 minutes, becomes 60 km and 90 minutes.
